KIRKWOOD BUNGALOW
Full Yard Landscape project - Design, Masonry, planting, grading, drainage, sod/turf/grass
In a graceful transformation, this small Kirkwood landscape has undergone a thoughtful redesign that marries history with modern functionality. The previous limitations have given way to a harmonious blend of elements that cater to various needs. The historic 1930's Granite Wall, once weathered and failing, has been replaced with a structurally superior wall, paying homage to the past while seamlessly integrating with the new layout. The usable patio space has been expanded, creating ample room for gatherings and relaxation. This space serves dual purposes, transforming effortlessly from a parking area into an inviting patio with flexibility to accommodate guests or create an intimate ambiance. In the backyard a charming fire pit beckons, casting a warm glow for evening conversations. Later at night, the landscape lighting increases the usable time outside. The side yard hosts a small private nook that has been fashioned for those tranquil mornings, providing a serene spot for sipping coffee and basking in the surroundings. The ground beneath welcomes bare toes with soft grass, and carefully selected low-maintenance plants add bursts of color and texture, evoking a sense of natural beauty without the hassle. This redesigned landscape embraces the past while embracing the present, offering a haven for both practicality and peaceful moments.
