Aeration - The Secret to Awesome Turf

“It is that time of year again.  Time to poke some holes”.  This is what I heard another landscape “professional” say just last week.  And while he is correct on his timing, he has no clue on just how important proper Turf Aeration is to the health of your lawn.

The fact is, the past two years have been very hard on lawns in North Georgia.  Dry soil compacts around the roots making it difficult for oxygen, water and nutrients (the three most important things) to be processed.

This is where Turf Aeration is important.  By “poking a bunch of holes” in the lawn, we are essentially opening up the soil to allow said necessities to reach the roots.  Combine this with the great rains we have had and proper Organic Fertilizer application and you lawn will be the pride of your landscape all Summer long.
