For expert tree service regarding larger, mature trees, our Arborist at Arborguard are Fantastic! Each year they offer free consultations to Big Blue Sky client’s. We arrange for their head Arborist to come to your landscape and perform an inspection of your trees.

Last year they found a serious issue with a tree that was located near the property line of one of our clients. They wrote a letter describing the issue and made recommendations as to the urgency of action. The tree owner disregarded the letter and within a month a large limb had fallen on her house. It did serious damage. Because this inspection was performed, the victim was able to argue negligence. The neighbor’s Insurance Company did not argue, and paid the claim. 

The Arborists at Arborguard are wonderful. They consult and service for some of the most demanding clients such as Augusta National Golf Course, Piedmont Park Conservancy, and Big Blue Sky Clients. What have we been up to...

2010 was a year of change to say the least. It was exciting and fun. Challenging and rewarding. Looking back, I would say 2010 was a year of transition. For years we have been focused on offering Professional Landscape Management Services. We did offer installation services to our existing clients and did a pretty awesome job (if you will allow me to brag). But this was a relatively small part of our portfolio.

Last Winter the whole BBSL Team gathered to do some strategic planning. 2009 was fresh on our minds and we were unsure what to expect. We decided to go with our strengths. We would add Construction and Installation Services as a full time pursuit. And what a pursuit it was!

Brad, our Landscape Architect, helped us produce over 40 Detailed Landscape Plans! Jesse took the reins of the Landscape Installation Department and installed 47 landscapes (not all of them required a plan). We acquired new equipment and education, employed a few new faces that brought their own unqiue skill sets. Alex, our Stone Mason had his hands full constructing outdoor fireplaces, flagstone patios, retaining walls, pathways and so much more. We designed and installed Ponds and Waterfalls, Pergolas & Arbors, Fences, Outdoor Lighting and Irrigation in addition to our usual softscapes (fancy way of saying plants in the landscape).

While we are excited about our Landscape Construction and Installation prospects for 2011 (and wanted to make you aware if you were not already), I am very much focused on our Landscape Management Program. This year we will be adding a few little things to help us improve. One is an upgraded Software program that helps us with scheduling and routing. This leads to more efficient services and creates better client experiences.

Goal #1 for 2011 is to produce as many WOW! Moments as possible.
